Black Hills: Osprey Trail

We happily took advantage of the 50 degree days we were having in late October to explore around Lake Pactola. There’s something about Lake Pactola in the Black Hills that is so magical. We hiked Osprey Trail for the first time. An easy, flat trail that led us around a couple of loops toward the back of the lake – a view that can’t be seen from the highway that flies over the lake. Utah: Monument Valley

Our first stop on our second Arizona vacation for 2015, was Monument Valley, Utah. About 4.5 hours from Phoenix, we were up bright and early and on the road to make it to the park by mid-morning. We made a few stops along the way and made a little dog friend, who desperately wanted to come with us. I was sad leaving him. The Monument Valley formations are so… weird. Nebraska: Devil’s Nest

Devil’s Nest is an abandoned ski resort concept from the 1970’s that lost funding and therefore, become a ski resort ghost town. Despite the sunshine and pretty views, the old, rusty ski lift gives off an extremely eery vibe. Read about the history of the place here.View full post »
